This recipe is made with a very famous Greek wine called “Mavrodafni”. It is a type of wine made from dark grapes. It is a dark wine very similar to port but whose aromas are a very interesting mix of caramel, chocolate, coffee, raisins, spices, toffee and plums.
- Add the beer, mavrodafni, lemon, cinnamon and cloves to a large pot. Let it simmer.
- Once it starts to simmer, add the brown sugar, slowly. One spoonful at a time. Deep tasting it until it reaches a sweetness you like.
- Simmer for 10 minutes so that all the spices release their aromas.
- Serve warm.
