Thanksgiving Day, every day!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and all of us have many “thank you’s” on our minds that we would like to share with people we love. They are on our mind simply because the hustle and bustle of our daily lives sometimes does not allow us to dedicate the time we would like to our families and loved ones.

This, my dear friends, is one of the things I suggest we change in the coming New Year, starting with Thanksgiving Day in 2017! What do I mean? At a beautifully decorated table, full of the colors of fall, flavors and aromas, we will make a promise that from now on we will try to keep the spirit of this special day alive in every day of the New Year! In this way we will have a day of Thanks…. Thanksgiving Day… every day! Tell me, is there anything better than saying “thank you” at the exact moment we are supposed to? Thanksgiving Day will once again regain its true meaning, the meaning it had in the past and not be “used” to share those forgotten “thank you’s”. Instead it can be used to run through all that we were able to achieve in the year that passed and for all the things we should be grateful for. They are not few… You see, apart from the big things, there are also some simple, everyday things which we take for granted.

Amongst these smaller things, is also this beautiful feast… A feast which is made up of ingredients borrowed from nature, personal time, love and caring for those we love. What does it include? So many different things! Following are some recipes I’ve put together for a traditional menu but also some other recipes to give you more choices!! All you have to do is choose which ones you are going to make for this very special day…

For a start, let’s prepare a delicious soup that will warm up the atmosphere even more… Basic ingredient? Our beloved pumpkin!

As a main dish you can make a traditional turkey or an equally flavorful pork dish. For a more… vegetarian version, bring in the sweet potatoes which are in season this time of year!

Following are the of course the delectable side dishes… A handmade pie, a homemade chutney, a freshly whipped up bowl of mashed potatoes and last but not least – a tasty salad. You can choose the ones that inspire you the most… or all of them!

And last but definitely not least… dessert! It looks so good it could easily be the evening’s centerpiece! Whether you choose to make a dessert with apples or pumpkins… it is sure to give the tastiest, sweet ending to the meal…

And we have come to the end of our Thanksgiving menu my friends…  At this point I would like to take the opportunity to say a big “Thank you” to all of you who trust in me and my recipes in order to please your loved ones - not only for this special day but for every other day of the year!
