Simple, scrumptious recipes that can become wonderful gifts! See how…

Christmas… What’s the first thing that pops into your mind when this word is spoken? I think of food (not very original right?)! For others it’s Christmas trees and lights… Most people though think of… gifts! Yes, yes, I know… Christmas is the time we give love, give gifts, smiles and positive energy. But what happens when presents become more of a… headache than a joy? Well, then the spirit of the season is lost! Nowadays our time is limited, just like our cash flow… The best gifts have become the more practical ones! Tell me my friends, is there any gift more practical (and enjoyable) than one that can be eaten in front of a burning fireplace, around a festive table or just by watching your decorated Christmas tree on a cold, winter morning?

Is there any possible way that a box full of handmade chocolates can go to waste? A jar full of homemade marmalade? A liqueur or a box full of handmade cookies with a glaze, sprinkles and chocolate or simply dusted with some icing sugar? The truth is… food can always be put to good use!

For this exact reason (and because it’s my specialty!) I decided to share some of my favorite recipes that can be transformed into wonderful gifts. How? Well, naturally by finding the right packaging! Wrapping paper, box, bottle…. a ribbon, a dry leaf, pretty material, some string and some pine nuts. All of these things can easily help you put together unique packaging that are beautiful and… environmentally friendly! This is what I call “smart” gift wrapping!

Finally, if you like, you can make some ornamental dough with some water and flour and create beautiful ornaments (bells, stars, hearts, candy canes, tree, etc.). You can use them to further embellish your gifts and your ornaments can then make their way to your friend’s Christmas trees! Your gift will just keep on giving! ;-)

So many beautiful, creative ideas that are – above all – delicious! What do you say? Shall we take a look at them one by one?
