On the 31st of October.. it’s Halloween! It is celebrated in America and in many other countries. It is also a day where pumpkins are greatly honored! Why? Because they are carved into various shapes (scary or funny faces) and transformed into “lanterns” creating a special and a little… spooky atmosphere!
Halloween is not celebrated much in Greece but we seem to really like and enjoy the esthetics of it! Pumpkins seem to have found there place in the Greek household and rightly so since they not only make the garden more beautiful, they look great on balconies, living rooms and even in kitchens! If you are among those who still haven’t made up your minds whether or not you can do this… stop thinking and just do it! Buy your own pumpkin, carve it, remove the flesh, fill it, decorate it and then… cook it!

In some recipes you can use the flesh of the pumpkin… grated or cut into small cubes. In other recipes you have to prepare a Pumpkin puree beforehand, which will be used as a basic ingredient in many of these pumpkin..y recipes!
