I don’t know if you agree with me, but I think that a dish has the power to make you travel. To send you directly into the heart of the land where it comes from! This happened when, a while ago, I visited London, but ended up in…Italy! A walk by Jamie Oliver’s kitchen was enough to transfer me, within seconds, from the one country to the other. But, let’s take things from the start: This fall, and specifically on 5th November, Jamie Oliver has an appointment with the Italian cuisine’s lovers (and not only!) through FOX Life (available via Cosmote TV, Nova, Vodafone TV, and Wind Vision) and he transfers them to their favorite country through his new show called “Jamie Cooks Italy”.
Excited for this new project, FOX Networks Group Greece, Jamie, and the tv show’s crew invited friends and colleagues at the filming location in order to give them a small taste of what they are…cooking! And, believe me, what they’re cooking is delicious!
As soon as I got to London, I headed to the building where Jamie’s offices and studio are. There, my dear friend Gennaro Contaldo welcomed me and showed me around the offices, the kitchen, and generally around the whole building. Then, we sat down all together and enjoyed Italian tastes -tastes which had the goal to put us into the mood of what would come next. What was that? A live cooking show by Jamie and Jennaro inspired by -what else- the magical Italian cuisine! After that, we sat down and discussed Jamie’s new tv show that will be broadcasted in Greece by FOX Life!
Jamie Cooks Italy – cooking full of aromas and flavors
The kind of cooking that doesn’t ask for recipes by chefs awarded with Michelin stars, but simple, traditional tastes, cooked in a home’s kitchen. In order to find them, Jamie travels, along with Gennaro, all around Italy -from the sunny Sicily to the snowy Alps-, they meet kind mothers and grandmothers who are cooks and hold, right into their hearts, the tastiest recipes of each area. And that’s because a good dish that isn’t cooked with heart, it doesn’t have such an intense flavor…So, they prepare for us amazing pasta…Slow-cooked roasts and delicious seafood. Hot chocolates and mouthwatering puddings. The best of all, though, is that he shares with people simple recipes that anyone could prepare at his home.
Below, I would like to share with you some more photos from this special day. And because, maybe, -by looking at them- you might have cravings, I’ll give you some of my favorite Italian recipes just to be sure! You can enjoy them by watching the new episodes of «Jamie Cooks Italy» from Monday 5 November and every Wednesday at 18.35, exclusively at FOX Life!
