Akis' Christmas recipe

-- Ingredients --

1 kilo Christmas carols

20 g Christmas ornaments

20 kilos nicely wrapped gifts

50 g sweet and savory Christmas recipes

1 New Year’s Eve party

Drizzle with 1 ton of love

As you have all probably realized, this recipe could only mean one thing: Christmas! I’m sure you are already looking for ideas for your Christmas table and those Holiday dinners or soirees with family, relatives and friends.

The Christmas menu I’m recommending is one of my favorites and each and every dish is sure to impress! Of course I’m giving you options so you can choose to make one dish or another… or you can even make ALL of them!

Grab some paper and a pen to write down all of these amazing Christmas recipes and start enjoying all the warm, enticing Christmas aromas that will start overflowing in your kitchen!

Let’s begin with a dish that surely cannot be missing on this special day…  roast turkey! Follow the recipe for Roasted Stuffed Turkey Bread and Caramelized Vegetables. It is full of chestnuts and rich, nutritious vegetables such as broccoli, spinach and corn. The sauce will caramelize the whole dish and take it to a whole new level that will make each bite a little piece of heaven.

If you prefer pork on your Christmas table, I want to suggest my favorite recipe for ham: Glazed Ham with Pineapples. This recipe is so simple to make and the ingredients are so unique. You will get an exceptionally delicious result that will leave your guests speechless and asking for seconds.

When your main dish of either turkey or ham is cooking in the oven, I’m sure you will be looking for some interesting Christmas appetizers.

I want to offer some simple but impressive Christmas appetizers that are above all…. very tasty!  If your guests come with an appetite.. they are sure to have one after trying these!

The following recipes will satisfy your vegetarian guests also. I recommend Cold Chickpea and Tahini Soup,

and Roasted Olives and Goat Cheese Bruschetta.

And now…. Christmas desserts! I can’t suggest just one because they are all so good. So, starting with my very own… Aki’s spiced Christmas Cookies in Syrup (Melomakarona) and Almond Snow Balls (Kourabiedes).

Also, Christmas cannot be complete without the traditional Cinnamon Honey Sesame Walnut Squares (Diples) and Stollen with dried apricots, cranberries and orange liqueur. The aroma they expel when baking is, in my opinion, a very important part of the Christmas atmosphere at home.

For those of you looking for Christmas recipes for children, try making Gingerbread Cookies or Spiced German Christmas Cookies. You can have fun decorating them together!

Finally, if you would like a light but very impressive dessert for a grand finale to your Christmas feast, try the Winter Fruit Salad with apricots, figs, pears, granny smith apples and pomegranate seeds.

We have come to the end of this particular menu. I hope I have helped you in your quest for the perfect Christmas table. Christmas menus can vary and I know you are bombarded daily with new ideas, impressive creations and an assortment of recipes for Christmas foods and desserts.

But… don’t get overwhelmed…. Have fun!

You can start from here and sprinkle some of your own fantasy and creativity to give this Christmas dining experience your own personal touch, making it an even more special holiday that everyone will remember fondly. Prepare a spread that will show all of your love and care to everyone special to you this Holiday season.
