Kitchen Lab runs the Marathon!

The 33rd Original Athens Marathon took place on November 8th 2015!

The Athens Marathon is like no other on Earth! According to legend, it covers the same ground that the Athenian messenger Phiedippides ran when he brought news of victory from the battlefield of Marathon 2,500 years ago.

The finish line is in Athens' magnificent Olympic Stadium, the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games. Those who run the Athens Marathon say it is an experience they'll never forget.

Some synonyms for the word “Marathon” are… stamina, perseverance, goal and win.

And it is true that EVERYONE who takes part in this marathon is a WINNER!

I can confirm this since the “modern” marathon is a personal goal or bet we make with our own selves… It is all about a personal effort to try and surpass our strength and abilities. It has to do with our very own success and happiness!

I don’t know if running has become a trend lately but it was so nice to see the streets PACKED with runners who came from all over the world. There were over 40.000 runners!

It was admirable to see so many people of all different nationalities, backgrounds and ages sending such an optimistic message to the world!

All of us from Kitchen Lab were there bright and early along with Arcturos, the non-profit environmental organization. We got together and ran the 5 km road race as a team.

I want to try and describe the feelings we all had after we crossed the finish line!

It is so difficult to explain how proud and full of awe you feel the closer you get to the Olympic Stadium! It is truly an inspiring and amazing feeling!

I was thinking how emotionally charged the people who ran the 42 km course must have been! What a great experience! I know that it is a very important experience for Greek people since it holds great historical value!

Congratulations to every single one of you who took part in the Marathon!

All of us from Kitchen Lab will be there again next year.. FOR SURE!
