My summer began with the most incredible trip! A trip in which I had the pleasure to meet plenty of you and to celebrate together the first Coca-Cola & Akis Food Tour Festival that took place in 5 Greek towns and gave us the chance to bring to you the delicious burger of Burger Ap! The highlight of the trip? A place in the book of GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM!!!
So, let me tell you how it all started… About a week ago, we packed our suitcases, we filled our truck with the purest ingredients and the best burger recipe, and we set off with Coca-Cola for the country’s first Food Tour Festival! Our destination? 5 Greek towns in which we set up our own party! A party that started every afternoon and ended late in the evening! In each town, we prepared the most delicious burgers that everyone enjoyed along with an ice-cold Coca-Cola. Christos Anthopoulos was with us, and along with DJs of local radio stations, they brought music and rhythm to the party, to the people and to us, too. Moreover, the Bodossaki Foundation was by our side and helped us provide 60.000 meals to our fellow citizens in need, in the towns where the Coca-Cola & Akis Food Tour Festival was held.
Our path to success…
Our first stop? Kalamata! The people there helped us get rid of all the anxiety we had since it was, in fact, the town where the Coca-Cola & Akis Food Tour Festival started! People’s love showed us that we do not have anything to worry about. The only thing we should care about is…having fun!
Next town? Ioannina! We welcomed the citizens of this beautiful town at Mavili square. We had a wonderful time with them! Just take a look at the photos to get a glimpse of the atmosphere which was simply unique!
Then, a stop in Larissa. A town as joyful as its people! Our time there? Great, of course! People seemed to enjoy our burgers and that is what made us so happy :-)
From Larissa, we headed to Xanthi. The ambiance there was unique. People’s warm welcome made us relax completely and so, we had fun with everyone who came to meet us at the Square of Pesonton Heroon.
And like that, our unique trip ended in my beloved Thessaloniki where there was a special attempt waiting for us! Our goal? To make history by assembling the most hamburgers ever within an hour, so to break one of the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM!!! Did we make it? Of course!!! In fact, we assembled 3.387 hamburgers within 60 minutes, which -after being counted by the official representative of GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM- were offered to all the people that were there to encourage us and support our effort, along with an ice-cold Coca-Cola!
The atmosphere? Simply magical… I have so much to remember! The preparation, the moment I stood behind the counter and turned to my team, and of course the moment when the countdown timers started. All these moments were so intense, but nothing can be compared to the moment when we realized that we achieved our goal! I remember the moment we were awarded, my team smiling, and the moving words of the people who support all the efforts of me and my team. A “thank you” cannot be enough but -I feel- that I have to say it.
So, THANK YOU ALL for supporting my dreams. For being there for me, trying out my recipes. For evaluating my work, helping me become better. For following me all around Greece and giving me the strength not only to set new goals, but also to achieve them!
As you all understand, my summer began in the best way possible. What does that mean? That it gave me incredible strength and energy to work! Yes, work that I will share with you in September. So, stay tuned…
The best is yet to come and I am so glad that we experience them together!!!
