Tahini – Your best dietary ally!

Tahini is a natural product that is priceless when it comes to nutritional value. It may be a little richer in calories but it is so beneficial to your health that I’m sure you can find a way to include it in your diet.

What is tahini? Tahini is a sesame paste made from select sesame seeds that are hulled dried and ground. This is how this oily substance is created.

Why is tahini so exceptionally nutritious? The list is so long! Where do I begin? Vegetable proteins, dietary fiber, carbohydrates, vitamins B and E, zinc, potassium, phosphorus, calcium are only some of its nutritional makeup.

More so, it is a great source of beneficial unsaturated fats, which is also why it is so rich in calories.

Tahini is ideal for children who don’t have any weight problems. They can eat much as they want and as often as they like. Adults need to hold back a little no matter how much they enjoy it! 

What’s not to like from this delicious paste? It goes perfectly with honey, chocolate, lemon, beans…. you can even make amazing salad dressings with it! It is also the basic ingredient in halvah and many other foods that are suitable for fasting. Also great for vegetarian and vegan dishes. 

So remember, don’t go overboard but enjoy the rich, delicious and quite distinctive flavor of tahini. I’ve made a list of some of my favorite recipes for you to enjoy!
