Where does it come from?

The avocado comes from central America, with testimonies that they were consumed in the area for over 10.000 years!!

When should it be planted?

The Persea Americana is planted in mild temperatures between 16*-20* C – 60*-68* F towards the end of winter. In Greece it is cultivated especially on the island of Crete. The best season to consume it is from January until the end of June.

Climate

The avocado tree need high temperatures and quite a bit of humidity and of course needs a very generous amount of water. It cannot withstand very cold winters.
