Potatoes

The potato was domesticated 8000-5000 years ago in Peru and Bolivia. It originated there, was widely spread and became a very basic food all over the world. It reached Europe in1570-1590 from Latin America and helped in the development of the European population. Later on, the potato also made it possible for many Europeans to migrate to America.
