Nettle

Those of you that spend time in nature may have come across nettle and may have even been stung by it! 

Most people don't know that they are quite tasty and can be cooked! 

They need to be washed with plenty of cold water, then dipped in hot water for 3 minutes and then allowed to strain. This is the first thing that needs to be done in order for the "stings" to soften and wither.  Then you can work with the leaves easily and cut them up to make pies or simply boil them. 

It is a wonderful herb that is used for easing allergies, asthma, & illness. It is sometimes used for reducing blood pressure and infection and has fat burning properties when consumed as a drink.
